Penal Substitutionary Atonement: Part 2

I was moved so much by this last episode of the DL so much, I had to post it on my own website.  Here, James White is going through a Part 2 of his response to those who have a problem with the most important and most fundamental doctrine to Christianity, Penal Substitutionary Atonement.  I repeat, MOST FUNDAMENTAL!!!

I recently did my own commentary on PSA in response to a young YouTuber from the Eastern Orthodox tradition. He too slammed PSA in his video, and after I finished that response, I felt shaken up on how anyone could attack such a fundamental Biblical understanding of the Christian faith - while calling themselves, Christian.  That's never happen to me in all my responses on other debates, commentaries, as a podcaster.

At the 45:00 mark on the DL, James reads an ugly sentiment (to say the least) of someone who really has a problem with the doctrine of PSA... and this is one of my conclusions with many who reject PSA..

It's a dark and worldly, God-denying rejection of what God has done for us, and what Christ did for us at the cross.   I can't think of anything more sad!  It's demonic BLINDNESS not to see it in the reading of the NT as well as Isaiah 53!    All I can say is WOW!

Lord have mercy!  Open the eyes of the blind!

Many of these objections stem from the rejection of the knowledge of the depravity of man.   As well as a rejection of the knowledge of the thrice HOLINESS of God!    Lord, open the eyes of the blind!

I've always said, we need to know who God is by having a higher view of Scripture.  Unless we recognize how Holy our God is, we're NOT going to see how small, depraved, and UNHOLY we are!

It's no wonder why the attributes people seek of from "a god of their own making" is all about what pleases human sensibilities and emotions like,  "Love" ... because the god that people create for themselves can't  remind them of how great He is and how small and sinful we are.

Unfortunately for them, this is where true humility comes from.

God bless.

OSAS Documentary: Full Atonement = Full Forgiveness

OSAS Documentary: (Full Atonement = Full Forgiveness

Did the Arminians just create a whole documentary on Once Saved Always Saved??.. Oh no they didn't!! :)

Did Christ accomplish a FULL atonement for the sins of His people or just past sins?

Did Christ not KNOW who would be saved from before the foundation of the world?

Sovereignty folks... It's what it's all about!

Thanks for listening.

Here's a non-Reformed believer who can see through the nonsense of this OSAS documentary.

Reformed Theology (basics)

For the 513th year anniversary of the Reformation

Reformation Day 2022, I wanted to start a talk on the basics of Reformed Theology.

What is Reformed Theology?  A lot of people don't really understand its history, its Biblical hermeneutics, what Calvinism is, what is confessionalism, covenantalism, etc.

Sadly, Reformed Theology is rejected way before it's actually understood and personally I believe it's rejected because of its history and because of its approach to the Bible.

Listen in and look out for the 2nd episode coming soon.

God bless.

Don't stumble on ELECTION

One of the biggest problems I see people have with the doctrine of election in the Bible is not only that in the large scale of things, WE are not responsible for our salvation despite what we EXPERIENCE through it (in this life) but also that GOD DOESN'T CHOOSE FOR SALVATION THOSE WHO WON'T BE SAVED.

That's a really big stumbling block for some people.

But consider this:

#1- We know for a fact that there will be those who will end up in Hell.

#2- We know that The Word of God says, "All those who have ears, let them hear"; "All those who will come...", "If you hear God calling, do not harden your hearts"... etc., etc.

The Bible is complete with verses calling everyone to come.

"Many are called but few are chosen".

All of those are INVITATIONS to come and believe, and repent, etc.,    and re more than enough reason for people to DESIRE to come - but not all do.

As it turns out, it's un-realistic to suggest that those people who will end up in Hell are BANGING ON HEAVEN'S GATES during their life on earth to try and come in.

It's actually inconsistent with scripture and it's dishonest to speak in defense of those who weren't elect and yet ended up in Hell.

The Bible says that "No one seeks for God...";

The Gospel is "foolishness" to those who are perishing", etc.

And so if you can't indict the one who ends up in Hell and who isn't truly seeking for God then how can we indict God for not choosing them?

We tend to want to come to the defense of fallen man and that's perhaps because we're intimately attached to that fallen-ness as we ourselves are biased as fallen humans ourselves.

This is especially true of the world of unbelievers who want to indict God (as unfair), and often times, Christians themselves take on worldly perspectives.

When we read heavy-hitting doctrine in scripture, we may be susceptible to the temptation of rejecting God's sovereignty since one of the biggest issues in fallen humanity is that of PRIDE and self autonomy.

But this is why scripture must come first.

And we must remember:

Isaiah Chapt. 55:6-9

"Seek the LORD while He may be found;

Call upon Him while He is near.

Let the wicked abandon his way,

And the unrighteous person his thoughts;

And let him return to the LORD,

And He will have compassion on him,

And to our God,

For He will abundantly pardon.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways

And My thoughts than your thoughts."
