Penal Substitutionary Atonement: Part 2

 

I was moved so much by this last episode of the DL so much, I had to post it on my own website.  Here, James White is going through a Part 2 of his response to those who have a problem with the most important and most fundamental doctrine to Christianity, Penal Substitutionary Atonement.  I repeat, MOST FUNDAMENTAL!!!  

I recently did my own commentary on PSA in response to a young YouTuber from the Eastern Orthodox tradition. He too slammed PSA in his video, and after I finished that response, I felt shaken up on how anyone could attack such a fundamental Biblical understanding of the Christian faith - while calling themselves, Christian.  That's never happen to me in all my responses on other debates, commentaries, as a podcaster.  

At the 45:00 mark on the DL, James reads an ugly sentiment (to say the least) of someone who really has a problem with the doctrine of PSA... and this is one of my conclusions with many who reject PSA.. 

It's a dark and worldly, God-denying rejection of what God has done for us, and what Christ did for us at the cross.   I can't think of anything more sad!  It's demonic BLINDNESS not to see it in the reading of the NT as well as Isaiah 53!    All I can say is WOW!

Lord have mercy!  Open the eyes of the blind!

Many of these objections stem from the rejection of the knowledge of the depravity of man.   As well as a rejection of the knowledge of the thrice HOLINESS of God!    Lord, open the eyes of the blind!

I've always said, we need to know who God is by having a higher view of Scripture.  Unless we recognize how Holy our God is, we're NOT going to see how small, depraved, and UNHOLY we are!

It's no wonder why the attributes people seek of from "a god of their own making" is all about what pleases human sensibilities and emotions like,  "Love" ... because the god that people create for themselves can't  remind them of how great He is and how small and sinful we are.

Unfortunately for them, this is where true humility comes from.

Is it a tradition or a jurisdictional hierarchy?

What did Christ leave us?

Who's the "authority"?

Is it "Sola Scriptura" or not?

What IS the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

 

Whereas some believe the gospel is found in the definition of what is a true Christian, the definition of a true Christian (among many defining characteristics) isn't just someone who believes they can be free from sin but someone who is indwelt by the Holy Spirit of God.

Unless one is born again (John 3:3) they can't see the kingdom of God let alone conquer their sins.

Desiring to be free from sin is obviously to be coveted but it's not the gospel.  

Our being free from sin is a consequence of believing the true gospel which is that we believe that Christ is the Son of God, The Creator, who came into the world to die for our sins and by faith, God, the Holy Spirit indwells us by God's grace.

Having made Him Lord of our lives.  We now walk in the Holy Spirit, purifying ourselves and growing in Christ to a mature stature towards the resembling of Christ's perfect moral standard, by God's grace and power.

We're saved by grace alone, through faith alone, and in Christ alone.   It is a gift of God and not of our merit or "good" works.

FALSE BELIEVERS OF YESHUA - BEWARE!

 

The fractured Christian Church has a lot to do with the massive growth of this cancerous deception in society.  The growth of this confusion and aberrant religious mish-mosh is disturbing.

In the last days, the "apostacy" must come first as it states in 2 Thessalonians, and the appearance of that man of lawlessness folks. 

We're ripe for all of it.

God willing, I'm going to try and post my interaction and an example of the growing hatred of the Church of Christ, and the influences from where it continues brewing. 

These are enemies of The Cross of Christ and they come IN MANY persuasions in the spirit of antichrist.   Imagine if you will those who claim to love Christ, Yeshua but deny His true identity and His true Church, and not, that supposed, "religion of peace" but other religionists who claim to follow God's Torah and law!!!    

The two signs of Christ's return (and now is):  

1- The apostasy in the last days

2- The appearance of antichrist

Maranatha!  

Here's a debate between A false Hebrew Israelite religionist and Dr. Michael Brown who has a PhD in Near Eastern Hebrew language and is a Messianic Christian Jew.

This is PART 2 to this review of these false believers of our Lord. They do not KNOW Him, and we pray that by the power of the Holy Spirit, they'll have their hearts of slander changed to KNOW the true Christ!  

The HATE is Biblical

 The hate we're seeing surrounding this conflict in Israel is of Biblical proportions.  Only the spiritually blind can fail to see that what's unfolding in the Middle East is exactly what we read in the Bible.  

I myself have gone back and forth between the idea of whether or not Israel should just stop the war, and insist on retaining the lives of those who have been captured as hostages by Hamas.  

However, the circumstances in Israel are beyond the scope of what most here in the West can understand.   Israel has lived far too long with the constant threat against their very existence among absolute radicals who are beyond human reasoning.

The West has for so long been bombarded by far-left propagandas and our youth are now marching in the streets expressing the same demonic homicidal hatred and most without a full understanding of why.  

Yet what's happening in Israel might be the prophetic hook that'll force and guide world powers into this escalating violent drama as well.

As Christians, we must continue praying that God's will be done and to strengthen us so that we might maintain clarity at such a time as this.  

Many Reformed believers will deny that God is still including Israel in His prophetic timeline but I do believe Israel as a nation, has a purpose despite their spiritual blindness.

Can we still say that "Israel is God's chosen nation"... 

No.

But God is still not done with "The Jews" as a people.  He will call them back as a nation (re-graphded in The Vine), and they will recognize their Messiah in repentance (as it is written).

"Conversion Therapy" ain't a thing!

 

From the article in Christianity Today:

"The leading activists on this issue – those the government is trying to placate – are quite clear that they want it to target conversations and ideas they don't like," he said.

"They want a kind of LGBT blasphemy law. This is profoundly illiberal."

He added, "Jayne Ozanne says she wants 'gentle non-coercive prayer' to be criminalized as part of this Bill. But it is obvious to most people that gentle non-coercive prayer is not conversion therapy."

In the UK, they're looking to continue pushing a clandestine "blasphemy law" on religious free speech and as always, what goes on in other places, ends up here in the US.  

The truth is that the phrase, "Conversion Therapy" isn't Biblical.

There's no such thing as conversion therapy!  This is another play on words the enemy uses in order to attack truth.  I'm not sure where the term got its start but it's meant to slander the idea that one can be free from a homosexual lifestyle.

The falsehood of "born this way" which can never be validated yet often repeated in the culture cannot survive as long as scores of testimonies exist of people leaving homosexual lifestyles.

But if you do a simple search on most social media platforms, you'll find people who have walked away from homosexuality and have found freedom in their organic and natural identities as men and women.

The secularist narrative doesn't want people to be aware of this nor do they want the church doing what the church is supposed to do by reaching into people's lives, and discipling them into the mind of Christ where power, purity and reality exists. 

If freedom is possible in Christ (as per 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10) then what else is the culture lying about?  There are so many lies in the culture which continue on just to derail the healing of our society.

The culture of death cannot allow this.

And the same goes for those suffering from many other areas in their lives where they need clarity and empowerment.

Christ has come to set us free, and the road is the way of TRUTH.

Women in the Church/Home

 

On this podcast, I want to cover the much regarded issues covered in 1 Corinthians 14 and 1 Timothy 2.

We'll see that Paul is dealing with the order in the congregation and draws from the law of God and the fall of mankind in Genesis;

bringing to light the foundation of familial headship and its necessity for the human relationship between man and woman.

it all hinges on LOVE AND RESPECT.  That's all good.

TO THE MEASURE OF THE SPIRITUAL REALITY THAT IS CHRIST AND HIS CHURCH AS A BRIDE WHICH WILL BE PURE AND READY - FULLY SANCTIFIED FROM THE WORLD.

This is the high standard of that relationship between men and women here on earth.

The POWER to choose God?

 

In this video, Sean McDowell makes it seem like men are "FREE" to choose God and that God wants humanity to be "FREE" to choose or not choose Him.   (some sort of fairness we're pursuing here)

But why does he or anyone think that human freedom is so much a part of God's interest?   This sounds more like something MAN is concerned about - not God!

After all, men can't be FREE in any way EVEN if they don't "choose" God because as the Bible teaches,  we're all "SLAVES TO SIN".  

"What does it profit you to gain the whole world, yet lose your own soul" -  Mark 8:36

Free from God but slaves to eternal death?   How much is that "freedom" worth in God's eyes?

So perhaps God isn't too concerned about man's freedom to deny Him as much as some people believe.

Especially since the call to come... is a COMMAND not a suggestion.

(Acts 17:30)

Do we have the power to CHOOSE God... as in, come to salvation... as in, seal ourselves with the Holy Spirit?... 

That is what it means to BE SAVED or "BORN AGAIN".  The "New Birth"; REGENERATION... RESURRECTION.   

Those of us who say we can CHOOSE our salvation... are we remembering that salvation involves all of the above?

So do we still think our salvation is something that WE do?

What is OUR PART in that experience?   Are we 10% active in that regeneration or 50%? ... 

All we know is that we must obey, respond, come forward, do the right thing; repent, change, grow in The Lord, etc., etc.

We are in that walk in REAL TIME but God has already fashioned the road of that walk in the eternal.

(Ephesians 2:10)

So do we have FREE WILL?

Yes, I exercise it every day for breakfast...  Eggs or oatmeal?

But REGENERATION?... SPIRITUAL RESURRECTION?  Is a bit above OUR paygrade - wouldn't you say?

With regard to salvation, it's us in the now but only because of what God had already decreed for us from before the foundation of the world.

When evil backfires

 

The Door of Truth is closing!

 So what do you think about the lying mainstream media, the attacks on free speech, revisionism in our language and history?  How about the cancel culture we're in? ... The disappearance of printed information and all our digital information being controlled by the internet -- which can be switched off and on at the power of whoever controls it? ...    

The door of truth is closing.  Soon, the ability to gain information will be completely gone.  While knowledge and technological advancements have increased, the counter to those advancements involves control, control, and more control of those sources by which we can gain knowledge.   People have often critiqued Americans for their lack of knowledge of other cultures and geo-politics around the world.  That's because the dumbing down has been inflicted upon us ON PURPOSE.   

Soon, the truth will be scarce.  

The first universities in our nation were created to teach philosophy, sciences and Biblical theology!    Today, everything but Biblical theology will be accepted in our universities, and the Bible will be the main reason for the banning of information.  

Many people today are ignorant about God's truth because they choose to be but one day soon, it'll be because God Himself will be closing the door of the ark on those who chose not to believe, and then it'll be too late to learn and teach the truth.

“Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord GOD,

“When I will send a famine on the land,

Not a famine of bread or a thirst for water,

But rather for hearing the words of the LORD.

“People will stagger from sea to sea

And from the north even to the east;

They will roam about to seek the word of the LORD,

But they will not find it.

"for false christs and false prophets will arise, and will provide signs and wonders, in order to mislead, if possible, the elect." - Mark 13:22

 

"Then that lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will eliminate with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not accept the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness." - 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12

Yes, "Gospel Blocking"... It's a thing.

A very annoying thing and a shameful thing.

Let's grow in Christ and not be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ "for it is the power of God unto salvation".

The ESSENTIALS of the Christian faith

 

Nothing is more important than the essentials.

The essentials separate the true message from the false. 

By this we know who we are.  By this we know who God is, what is expected of us, and how it is that we're saved.  Our hope is here - in the essentials.

The Word of God is clear that there IS a mystery that has been revealed.

The Word of God states that the message is passed down once for all to the saints.

The Word of God states that Holy scripture has been preserved holy and pure, and is perfect.

The Word of God is said to be God-breathed.

We have that Word among us and by it we know who is of the faith so that if we abide and endure, it is because He has empowered us to finish the race set before us.
